Yunguera Village
Yungeuera is a picturesque white village in the heart of the Sierra de las Nieves and borders with the eastern end of the Sierra de Ronda. The Moors left much influence of their settlement in Yunquera though the origin of the name goes back to the time of the Romans, the first inhabitants of this historic town. The Moorish Hermitage and Torre-Castillo which still has the Muslim half-moon visible over its door is one of the examples from Moorish times.

Yunquera itself has an array of village shops, restaurants, cafes and bars. The pedestrianised upper square with its unique cluster of cafes and bars leads on through to the network of cobbled streets up to the Church Square and down to the plantations, orchards and countryside paths and cycle routes that surround the village.

Yunquera is just 50 minutes from Malaga Airport along the newly extended A366. Malaga can be reached from most European international airports with many major European national airlines and budget airlines scheduling daily flights to Malaga.
